A new survey published Wednesday found that the vast majority of Americans believe Iran getting nuclear weapons would pose a significant threat to the United States.

The survey, conducted by Napolitan News Service and shared with Just The News, found that 77% of respondents believe a nuclear weapon would pose a threat to Americans, including 45% who claimed it posed a "very serious" threat and 32% who said it posed a "somewhat serious" threat.

A total of 14% said it would not pose a serious threat if Iran acquired nuclear weapons, while another 9% were not sure.

The poll also found that the majority believed Iran getting a nuclear weapon would pose a serious threat to Israel, and 43% said Americans should support Israel while just 8% said Iran. One-third of respondents (31%) said the U.S. should not support either country and 17% were undecided.

The survey, which questioned 1,000 registered voters, was conducted June 16-17. The poll's margin of error is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
